Treasure
Following on from The River is Us, the journey took me deeper into the world within eddies, and it’s here I found the treasure.
This painting took over me in a way I hadn’t anticipated. There is too much to say, so instead I’ll simply share images of the process and the final piece, a 1.2 × 1.6 metre highly textured painting in interior wall paint, acrylic ink and watercolour on stretched canvas. I painted it over an existing print, which shows through the cracks and thinner areas of paint when it’s lit from behind. It can be displayed at any angle, and even in the dark, with a light behind it that brings out the colour beautifully.
